CONNECTING UP
‘You feel like you’re part of somewhere. It’s a nice feeling.’

StreetLife
We want to help people feel connected to their communities and holding a street party is a great way of doing this. If you want to have a Street Party, we can help you with organising, getting the street closed, providing a BBQ. We can even help with public liability insurance. For more information, contact our street party coordinator at Alma Rd Community House

Port Phillip Pets & the Walking Woofs
PortPhillip Pets is a unique business—community partnership to improve the well being of our four and two–legged community. PPCG has partnered with PetStock South Melbourne, a market leader in animal care supplies to develop a fantastic series of pet events as well as the ongoing sponsorship of a weekly Walking Woof Club.
PortPhillip Pets already does fantastic work bringing together isolated pet-owners and helping them to get out & about. We also plan to;
- Increase education about pet-care and responsible pet ownership, especially for people who are marginalised and Non-English Speakers
- Broker contributions of pet care products from suppliers to low income pet owners
- Develop respite for animals whose owners are ageing or sickly
- Support low income pet owners to have their pets vaccinated and de-sexed, and
- Share the pet-love to build connections across Port Phillip

Rooming House Gardens
Rooming houses are an important part of Victoria’s housing landscape, accommodating thousands of low-income residents. Most rooming house residents within Port Phillip are single, unemployed and are vulnerable to poor health, discrimination and social isolation. Strengthening connections to place and community is one way to enhance the resilience of individuals in the face of such socioeconomic disadvantage. The Rooming House Community Gardens project supports the creation of attractive outdoor spaces, where friendships have an opportunity to grow along with some seasonal edible plants. For more information, call Tullia at our St Kilda Office
Alma Rd Community House

Community Kitchens
Open to all, we offer three great Community Kitchens on a regular basis. Every week, these exciting groups of chefs get together to cook up a storm entirely based on whatever food they have on hand each week. Food is provided by SecondBite to ensure we always have a bountiful supply of fresh produce, and every week it’s a completely new adventure! Come along, roll up your sleeves and share your skills as we cook up a storm each week!
