Information Support and Referral

This is a free, confidential service, provided by trained, experienced workers at all PPCG sites.  Interpreters are available if you cannot speak English well enough to make yourself understood. Make an appointment and visit one of our sites (link to contact us)

Staff at our South Melbourne and Port Melbourne offices can provide a confidential assessment; give you the information & support you in choosing the best way forward; help you to find the right resources and assist you to achieve your plan.

A limited counselling service is available at Port Melbourne and South Melbourne offices.  You will need to make an appointment.

Our staff have a wide knowledge and network of all local and general services.  They will work with you to assess which of these services is most suited to your needs.  They will explain how the service is able to support you, and, if you wish, will make a referral on your behalf.  Or, if you prefer, PPCG staff will give you the details and you will make contact with the agency yourself.

PPCG staff can support you by negotiating on your behalf with service providers, government agencies, utilities companies & other businesses to resolve any difficulties arising from issues which may include:

  • the quality or non delivery of a service;
  • contract matters or charges for services provided;
  • waiting lists for services or housing;
  • a debt issue which needs some negotiation
  • and other issues where you feel unable to get your rights heard & fairly considered.
