Financial Counselling | No Interest Loans | Tax Help | Port In a Storm / Back on Track | Material assistance
Our clients come from all walks of life, though most are on low-incomes. We can help whether you are in the midst of financial difficulties or a crisis, or simply wishing to avoid a crisis. For example, you may be:
- having difficulty paying debts
- being harassed by creditors or debt collectors
- facing legal action regarding your debts
- dealing with car repossession
- worried about being evicted from your home
- having budgeting problems
Our financial counsellor will
- Listen in a non-judgmental and caring manner
- Analyse and assess your financial situation
- Give you information about credit and debt issues
- Involve you in the process as much as possible
- Tell you about your legal rights and responsibilities
- Provide bankruptcy information if appropriate
- Work with you to develop a plan to improve your situation where possible
- If appropriate, act as an advocate for you and negotiate with the people you owe money to.
- Refer you to other organisations that may help you
