Our  clients come from all walks of life, though most are on low-incomes. We can help whether you are in the midst of financial difficulties or a crisis, or simply wishing to avoid a crisis. For example, you may be:

  • having difficulty paying debts
  • being harassed by creditors or debt collectors
  • facing legal action regarding your debts
  • dealing with car repossession
  • worried about being evicted from your home
  • having budgeting problems

Our financial counsellor will

  • Listen in a non-judgmental and caring manner
  • Analyse and assess your financial situation
  • Give you information about credit and debt issues
  • Involve you in the process as much as possible
  • Tell you about your legal rights and responsibilities
  • Provide bankruptcy information if appropriate
  • Work with you to develop a plan to improve your situation where possible
  • If appropriate, act as an advocate for you and negotiate with the people you owe money to.
  • Refer you to other organisations that may help you
