What the programs offer

A Port in a Storm
This program is based in PPCG St Kilda office. It provides appropriate, brief interventions for those who are homeless, or at high risk of becoming so in the St Kilda area.  This may include support with housing matters, brief counselling, financial counselling, problem solving & information, together with some limited material and financial support.  Other interventions may be referrals and/ or advocacy.  Program participants may be encouraged to access appropriate training, be supported in accessing private tenancies, and gaining employment.  A key aspect of the project is to consider ways to connect the person into the resources of the community, to encourage a real sense of inclusion, for health, service options & wellbeing.

Back on Track
This program is based at the South Melbourne PPCG office.  It provides a case management approach to those who are homeless or at high risk of becoming so in the South Melbourne & Port Melbourne areas.  Eligible persons will be assessed, their needs prioritised & strategies planned. Clients are supported through decision making & accessing support options.  A Strengths based approach is taken & clients may have 4-6 weeks on the program.

The program may involve support & advocacy with housing matters, counselling, general & financial, problem solving & information, skill development, together with some limited material and financial support.
